Abstract
The report is aimed at assessing the relationship
between technical design parameters and environmental
interference levels of a transmission line,
and at quantifying this relationship in terms of
investment and ope~ation extra costs required to reduce
each major interference.
Line costs and dimensions are optimized in relation
to interference parameters: for each given
set of interference values, the study determines the
characteristics of the minimum cost line design, out
of the many possible line configurations producing
the same environmental impact.
An analysis of the extra-costs required to
lower audible noise and electric field at ground, in
the case of a UHV line adopting the non conventional
"circus" tower, is reported, together with a discussion
of the results.
