First, the talk recaps the concept of Quality of Experience of HTTP Adaptive Streaming (HAS), which is the current state-of-the-art video streaming technology. Afterwards, different approaches to QoE monitoring are introduced and discussed. Thereby, the talk provides details how the impact of QoE factors, in particular, the quality adaptation of HAS, can be assessed with crowdsourced subjective studies. Moreover, an example is given how to monitor network- and application-layer QoE factors and subjective feedback of end users with a smartphone video streaming app. Finally, the talk wants to stimulate discussions on open research questions of HAS and beyond.
