Abstract
The Book Forum presents essays that focus attention on one book, followed by a response from the author. The forums originate from panel discussions at academic meetings and may retain some of the style of an oral presentation, such as the use of the first person and references to the author by first name. The essays that follow are based on a panel discussion sponsored by the Christian Systematic Theology Section of the American Academy of Religion held in Chicago in 2012. The title of the session was, “The Authority of Doctrine: In Dialogue with Khaled Anatolios,” with Matthew Levering, Francesca Murphy, George Hunsinger, and Bruce Marshall as respondents.
