Abstract
A review is presented of recent developments of the combustion of
single droplets with the object of stimulating discussion and future
work in the field. Among the areas covered are the combustion of
stationary and moving droplets in an oxidizing atmosphere, the combustion
of monopropellants, the influence of high pressures and the ignition
of droplets. The application of droplet theories to the modelling
of various combustion systems is also outlined.
