Based on a description of the state of the art in data mining, text mining and blog mining we discuss existing applications and frameworks. The use cases of the Semantic Weblog Monitoring Framework (SWeMoF) are introduced and we present the most important components of the system and discuss the extensibility of the framework. In the last part of the paper several application examples of the prototype are given and an evaluation perspective is discussed.
