Recently we got mails from users that can not login to BibSonomy using their Google OpenID. Today we traced at least one of the cases down to a problem with Google's OpenID service.
Today we updated BibSonomy to version 2.0.12. As always, the new libraries are at your disposal at our Maven repository. Next to various small bugfixes and internal restructuring the following features were included / updated:
* File Upload: It is now possible to upload and attach several documents to one BibTeX-Post. Furthermore, the upload is enabled already in the posting dialogue as well as in the editing and detail views.
* API: API-Requests for Tags now allow a new parameter, that specifies the order in that the tags are delivered. Currently, we support alphabetic order and order by frequency.
* Date: We changed the behaviour of the dates of our posts. From now on, the date is set fix once the post is created and does no longer change with each update/editing of that post.
The next release (2.0.13) is scheduled for March 30th. If you have any feedback or comments regarding our new release, we would be happy to hear from you!
# Delicious: Our importer for Delicious bookmarks and Tag-Bundles works now for all Delicious users (we added the functionality for those who use their Yahoo! accounts on Delicious).
# System tags: Several system tags are now hidden and visible only to the owners of the according posts. They are also removed from the tag clouds .
# RSS Feed: Bookmark RSS Feeds now contain a copy link for each bookmark to conveniently copy bookmarks to your own collection.
BibSonomy now runs as version 2.0.23! This release contained a lot of clean-up with respect to the latest layout changes.
* The page is now completely scrollable again.
* Preview pictures of publications are only displayed on larger screens.
* The sidebar is no longer undisplayed on smaller screens to keep all navigation (tags, similar tags, discussion pages, etc.) available.
The non-scrollable version of BibSonomy might come back sometime as one of two or more options to choose from in your personal settings. Our efforts to redesign BibSonomy continue and we hope to see some results within the next months.
Next to these design-minded changes, the new release includes:
* An all new experimental feature: QR Codes for publications and a QR Code scanner on the clipboard.
* A first draft for referencing publications or bookmarks in discussions (reviews and comments (take a look).
* A first draft for posting publications by uploading a .pdf file.
Stay tuned for the next feature of the week posts to learn more about these new possibilities.
New export format based on the Citation Style language (CSL)
Within discussions, particular publications can be referenced (VERY cool feature, we'll explain this in detail soon...)
Repaired Scrapers (SpringerLink, CiteSeer, WorldCat, Spires IEEEExplorer, PubMed, ScienceDirect)
Page load speed improvements by compressed CSS files
