Eine Gruppe von Wissenschaftlern der Universtität Boston will ermittelt haben, dass durch Prozesse von Patentverwertern in den vergangenen 20 Jahren 500 Milliarden US-Dollar vernichtet wurden – davon über 320 Milliarden seit 2006.
Nach einem Aufruf des MPEG-LA-Konsortiums im Februar haben sich mehrere Unternehmen gemeldet, die glauben, dass WebM gegen von ihnen gehaltene Patente verstößt.
Das Gericht hat sich mit einem Urteil zu einem Schutzanspruch auf eine Webseitenanzeige weiter der Linie des Europäischen Patentamtes angenähert, wonach Computerprogramme leicht die Hürde der Technizität überspringen.
