Dr. James Brewster changes himself into a half-man half-ape creature. To turn himself back to normal, he has to inject himself with fresh human spinal fluid. When his colleague, Dr. Randall refuses to offer a sample of his own, Dr. Brewster and his ape companion have to turn to other means of obtaining a human sample.

A couple and their friend are scuba diving off the coast of Puerto Rico. When they return, they find it extremely hard to breathe. They put their oxygen masks back on and return to their boat to find the captain dead. The three survivors head back to shore and find everyone in town - and maybe the entire world...are all dead!

A group of teenagers race their cars down a long abandoned highway. They see signs that the road is closed, but after ignoring the danger, one of the cars goes off a bridge and lands upside down in the water. Mary Henry, one of the young women in the car, crawls out of the lake unharmed. She tries to get back to her life, preparing for a new job as a church organist in Utah. She begins the long trek to her new job, but as night falls, things begin to change for the worse as she sees mind-bending visions and horrifying things begin to happen...
