Im Rahmen einer Diskussionsveranstaltung der FDP-Bundestagsfraktion zum Thema „Urheberrechte im Netz stärken“ (PDF der Einladung) durfte ich heute mit Dr. Bernhard von Becker vom C.H. Beck Verlag über das Wissenschaftsurheberrecht streiten. Im Folgenden das Manuskript meines Eingangsstatements.
Die Wissenschaft braucht ein anderes Urheberrecht, um Großverlage in die Schranken zu weisen. Die Balance zwischen Urhebern, Rechteverwertern und Nutzern ist gestört. (Von Wolfgang Marquardt)
Wissenschaftsverlage schröpfen nicht nur die Forschung. Sie betrügen auch die Öffentlichkeit, die sich keinen freien Zugang zu den überteuerten Publikationen leisten kann.
