A CachedRowSet object is special in that it can operate without being connected to its data source, that is, it is a disconnected RowSet object. It gets its name from the fact that it stores (caches) its data in memory so that it can operate on its own data rather than on the data stored in a database.
Ibator will introspect a database table (or many tables) and will generate iBATIS artifacts that can be used to access the table(s). This lessens the initial nuisance of setting up objects and configuration files to interact with database tables. Ibator seeks to make a major impact on the large percentage of database operations that are simple CRUD (Create, Retrieve, Update, Delete).
