According to the line fault records, more than 50% of the transmission line trippings were caused by
lightning in lvfalaysia. Transmission line arrester using A-fetal-Oxide elements has been installed on a J 32-kV
transmission line of TNB to prevent double-circuit faults due to lightning. This paper reports the
application and operation record of the line arrester.
