Аннотация
The Swedish school system is in crises. That is often the impression one has gotten from Swedish media reports about education policy in the last 10-15 years. During the same period the Swedish school system has undergone rapid changes. This notion of a school system in severe crises is the starting point for this report. We will examine Swedish education policy with special focus on the turbulent reform period during the 1990s. We focus on two very established goals for education policy: equality and efficiency.
