Abstract
HV-outdoor substations are generally built with
flexible conductors and/or stiff conductors. In the
case of a short-circuit, considerable stresses occur
on the supports and portals. The following contribution
deals with investigations of the short-circuit
stresses of 380-kV-busbar arrangements. To this,
test results ascertained at full-scale tests on
380-kV-busbar arrangements with short-circuit
currents up to 80 kA are presented. Mechanical
stresses of insulators and support structures in
bus-systems with flexible and stiff conductors are
compared. Beyond this, the short-circuit stresses
of the above mentioned busbar arrangements are
evaluated by calculation. Results calculated with
different simplified calculation methods, e.g. according
to the German standard VDE 0103 respectively
with an improved pendulum model, and with the aid of
the Finite Element Method are reported.
