Abstract

This paper describes the test facilities set up at the Magdalen Islands in the Gulf of St-Lawrence to study the dynamic response of bundled conductors to wind excitation and to assess the relative merits of diff erent spacer designs and distributions. The test line major features are outlined. Some of the first results obtained from thirty-six bundle conductor systems already tested are presented and discussed.
