This report investigates the effects of elevation, ranging from 1000 feet to 5400 feet above sea
level, and corona extinction performance of 500 kV AC polymer insulators and hardware
assemblies. This report shows that lower corona extinction voltages can be expected for
insulator and hardware configurations tested at higher elevations.
