Abstract
As the preliminary stage for standardization
of an acceleration test method for
composite insulators, change with time of
droplet size distribution and that of fog
density in a small and a big fog chambers
were investigated using two kinds of nozzles
and a humidifier. The droplet size
distribution and fog density depend on the
fog generation method. The observed change
of fog conditions with time is found very
small, but a confirmation test may be required
to check the effect on the electrical
properties of composite insulators
during acceleration tests.
