Zusammenfassung

It is evident that many computer systems have to support people operating in stressful circumstances and, of course, there are important design issues concerning how to present information in these very demanding circumstances. We hope to persuade the reader that the various aspects of stress research and its application to HCI are not limited to such concerns alone. Indeed, we believe that stress, in its critical form of task loading, is central to all HCIs.
