Abstract
The paper deals with the results of the studies
of conductor aerodynamic instability on a 1150 kV
commercial UHV line. Conditions of occurrence of severe
subspan oscillation and vibration of 8-conductor
bundle are discussed. Test results for the bundle
with different schemes of spacer installation
are given. The efficiency of a new technique, based
on the combination of 8-arm spacers and groups of
twin spacers which resulted in the control of subspan
oscillation and vibration to safe levels, is
shown.
