Abstract
Corona noise reduction by the use of non-regular
bundle conductors for EHV transmission lines is
discussed in this paper. Experimental results from
tests on two different asymmetric conductors are presented.
Long term corona performance tests have been
carried out on a four-cable conductor for a planned
Swedish 800 kV system. Results from radio interference
and audible noise measurements on the single-phase
test line are presented, along with computed noise
levels for the three-phase line.
