Abstract
This article mainly discussed the principle and
method to create the Building Information Model
(BIM) for a stone architectural heritage. As a
typical case for stone heritages, the BIM of the
outer south gate in the Ta Keo Temple in Cambodia
was built according to requirements on heritage
protection and management. In the case, we studied
three important problems about the stone BIM: the
mode of the BIM, the sorts of the families and the
contents of component attributes. By literature
study, on-the-spot investigation, data analysis and
repeating tests, we not only set a dynamic BIM for
the gate, but also summarized primarily the basic
techniques and scientific flow to build the BIM for
a stone heritage.
