Abstract
Silicone rubber composite and semiconducting-glazed
porcelain insulators generally have superior contamination
withstand voltage performances under sea-salt contamination
conditions. But, the contamination withstand voltage
characteristics of these insulators in industrial contamination
areas where non-soluble contaminants (ash, soot and so on) are
much heavier on the insulator surface have not been investigated.
This paper describes the investigation results of the withstand
voltage characteristics of silicone rubber composite and
semiconducting-glazed porcelain insulators under simulated
industrial contamination conditions.
