Die Zeitschrift �Beef!" erscheint ab Mai 2010 einmal pro Quartal. Das Food- und Lifestylemagazin für Männer war im Oktober 2009 erstmals bei Gruner + Jahr erschienen und konnte sich 53.000 mal verkaufen.
Die Forderung nach einem reduzierten Mehrwertsteuersatz für kostenpflichtige Onlinemedien stößt bei Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel auf offene Ohren. Bei den VDZ-Zeitschriftentagen sagte Merkel, die Regierung werde das Thema prüfen. Entscheidend sei dabei die Frage der Abgrenzung: �Nicht alle Online-Angebote gehören zum Grundbedarf." Zuvor hatte sich VDZ-Präsident Hubert Burda für einen reduzierten Mehrwertsteuersatz bei Webangeboten ausgesprochen.
Die Bilanzen könnten kaum schlechter sein: Die Wirtschaftsmedien haben schwer mit der Entwicklung des Werbemarktes zu kämpfen. Im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum haben im ersten Dreivierteljahr 2009 alle Titel weniger Anzeigenerlöse erwirtschaftet, die große Mehrheit hat sogar in prozentual deutlich zweistelliger Höhe verloren.
Schlechte Nachrichten für die Zeitschriftenverleger: Laut einer Studie der Unternehmensberatung Booz & Company müssen sich die Zeitschriftenverlage auf weiter sinkende Verkaufszahlen einstellen.
Über zwei Drittel (69 Prozent) der vom Verband Deutscher Zeitschriftenverleger (VDZ) befragten Mitglieder rechnen in diesem Jahr damit, dass ihr Ertrag schlechter als 2008 sein wird. Der Verband geht von einem Umsatzrückgang von 9,4 Prozent auf rund 6,86 Milliarden Euro aus. 2010 soll der Branchenumsatz zwar stagnieren (Prognose: plus 0,1 Prozent), aber der Personalabbau wird weiter voranschreiten (minus 3,7 Prozent).
Das Kindermagazin des "Spiegel" geht in Serie. "Dein Spiegel" erscheint am 1. Dezember monatlich in einer Auflage von 150.000 Exemplaren zum Copypreis von 3,40 Euro.
