Ein Telekommunikationsanbieter haftet nicht für rechtswidrige Inhalte der Wikipedia, die er automatisch in seine Website einbindet. Dies entschied die für ihre bisherigen Haftungsregelungen gegenüber Foren, Blogs und der Presse höchst umstrittene 24. Kammer des Landgerichts Hamburg mit Urteil vom 26. Mai 2008 (Az. 324 O 847/07).

Beklagte des Verfahrens ist ein Telekommunikationsanbieter, der unter anderem auf seiner Website den kompletten Inhalt der Online-Enzyklopädie Wikipedia zur Verfügung stellt. Der Kläger wurde 1993 wegen Mordes an einem Schauspieler zu lebenslanger Haft verurteilt und zwischenzeitlich auf Bewährung aus der Haft entlassen. Im Jahr 2006 war der Kläger bereits gegen die Beklagte vorgegangen und hatte dieser die Nennung seines vollen Namens gerichtlich verbieten lassen. In dem jetzigen Verfahren verlangte er von dem Anbieter die Unterlassung der Berichterstattung darüber, dass ihm angeblich ein Betrug zur Last gelegt wurde.
Bürgerrechtler sehen mit den "Information Fusion Centers" der Sicherheitsbehörden in den USA den kafkaesken Albtraum wahr werden, dass "Beweise" für das Begehen von Verbrechen rund um geringfügige Verdachtsmomente konstruiert werden. Das US-Department of Homeland Security (DHS) hat 2004 im Rahmen des Kampfs gegen den Terror angefangen, Zentren für die Sammlung umfangreicher Dossiers über Bürger einzulegen. Inzwischen gibt es nach Angaben der Behörde 58 solcher Datensammelstätten, die erst seit kurzem im Blickpunkt einer breiteren Öffentlichkeit stehen. Ziel der computergestützten Verschmelzungsanlagen ist nicht nur die Intensivierung des Informationsaustauschs zwischen lokalen, staatlichen und bundesstaatlichen Behörden aller Art sowie auch dem Militär. Vielmehr geht es auch um die Verknüpfung der dort angehäuften personenbezogenen Daten mit den Informationshalden privater Auskunfteien sowie anderer kommerzieller Datenjäger.
Begleitet vom üblichen Bitkom-Gesumm über schlimme Verzögerungen bei der elektronischen Gesundheitskarte (eGK) begann in München die von Euroforum veranstaltete Tagung zur Zukunft der Vernetzung im Gesundheitswesen recht durchwachsen. Während ein Vertreter des Gesundheitsministeriums vor allem die Mehrwertdienste lobte, die mit der neuen Karte kommen werden, lieferte ein Vertreter der Rhön Klinikum AG als Fan der Gesundheitskarte eine formidable Generalkritik der Telematik ab, die mit der eGK ins Haus steht.
Während in Ulm der 111. Ärztetag mit einer bewegenden Rede von Horst-Eberhard Richter über das Humane in der Humanmedizin eröffnet wurde, erörterten die IT-Spezialisten in München andere medizinische Themen. Zum Auftakt der zweitägigen Konferenz referierte Christoph F.J. Goetz vom Bundesgesundheitsministerium. Er lobte das eGK-Projekt als ein Unternehmen, "das weltweit seinesgleichen sucht" und betonte die Kostenminderung durch reduzierte Notarzteinsätze, Arztkontakte und Krankenhausaufenthalte, die mit der Karte möglich seien. Zu den dramatischen Effekten, die mit Einführung der Gesundheitskarte möglich werden, zählte Goetz Mehrwertdienste, die ab 2018 den weitaus größten Teil der Netzlast im kommenden Gesundheitsnetz ausmachen werden. Er zeigte eine Grafik, nach der diese Dienste im Jahr 2025 das Vierzigfache der Pflichtanwendungen und der freiwilligen Anwendungen bei der elektronischen Gesundheitskarte ausmachen werden.
Ein Jahr nach dem Start des Angebotes, bundesweit Freiheitsredner für Vorträge über den Wert der Privatsphäre zu vermitteln, zieht der Rednerdienst ein positives Fazit. Im ersten Jahr wurden Freiheitsredner von Schulen, Universitäten und von Demonstrationsveranstaltern gebucht und hielten über 70 Vorträge. Dem Netzwerk der Freiheitsredner gehören derzeit 81 ehrenamtliche Redner und Rednerinnen in ganz Deutschland an.
Wer heute die Seite Wikileaks aufruft, erhält nur eine Fehlermeldung: Der Domainname wurde nicht gefunden. Grund ist eine Verfügung gegen den US-Registrar Dynadot, die den Provider nicht nur zur Löschung des Domainnamens der Whistleblower-Webseite verpflichtete, sondern auch die Offenlegung sämtlicher Account-Daten anordnete. Der Registrar wurde ebenso angewiesen, den Umzug der Domain zu einem anderen Provider zu verhindern. Dennoch sind die Inhalte von Wikileaks weiter verfügbar, zum Beispiel über die Ausweich-Domain wikileaks.cx
