bnd is the Swiss army knife of OSGi, it is used for creating and working with OSGi bundles. Its primary goal is take the pain out of developing bundles. With OSGi you are forced to provide additional metadata in the JAR's manifest to verify the consistency of your "class path". This metadata must be closely aligned with the class files in the bundle and the policies that a company has about versioning. Maintaining this metdata is an error prone chore because many aspects are redundant.
Clerezza is a service platform based on OSGi (Open Services Gateway initiative) which provides a set of functionality for management of semantically linked data accessible through RESTful Web Services and in a secured way. Furthermore, Clerezza allows to easily develop semantic web applications by providing tools to manipulate RDF data, create RESTful Web Services and Renderlets using ScalaServerPages.

ScalaModules aims at Scala-based OSGi development. The mission of ScalaModules is to employ the power of the Scala programming language to ease OSGi development. Of course using Scala for OSGi will itself be beneficial, because of the great simplifications Scala brings compared to Java. But ScalaModules will also make use of the additional possibilities offered by Scala, mainly the chance to create a Domain Specific Language. Therefore with ScalaModules your code will be more intuitive and concise as well as less verbose and less involved compared to Java-based OSGi development.
The MAEXO project enables JMX based management of OSGi containers and applications. It offers an easy to use programming model for dealing with JMX resources within an OSGi application.
As a showcase, the framework is used to export core OSGi services and resources to JMX.
The project aims at portability, minimal dependencies and user-friendliness.

The Riena platform will be the foundation for building multi-tier enterprise client/server applications. As such Riena will broaden the usage of the service oriented architecture of OSGi/Equinox by providing access to local and remote services in a transparent way. Using this uniform programming model, the components of Riena and the business components of the enterprise application can be developed regardless of their target location. Components are later easily placed on client or server depending on the business requirements.
As an example the Riena user interface components will support a business process oriented user interface visualization and navigation metaphor which can be used as alternative to the default workbench layout.
This plugin for Maven 2 is based on the BND tool from Peter Kriens. The way BND works is by treating your project as a big collection of classes (e.g., project code, dependencies, and the class path). The way you create a bundle with BND is to tell it the content of the bundle's JAR file as a subset of the available classes. This plugin wraps BND to make it work specifically with the Maven 2 project structure and to provide it with reasonable default behavior for Maven 2 projects.
Since the 1.4.0 release, this plugin also aims to automate OBR (OSGi Bundle Repository) management. Felix is a community effort to implement the OSGi R4 Service Platform, which includes the OSGi framework and standard services, as well as providing and supporting other interesting OSGi-related technologies. The ultimate goal is to provide a completely compliant implementation of the OSGi framework and standard services and to support a community around this technology. Felix currently implements a large portion of the OSGi release 4 specification, but additional work is necessary for full compliance. Despite this fact, the OSGi framework functionality provided by Felix is very stable.
