Le sujet de la fin de vie, de son accompagnement et de
la prise en charge palliative a été remis sur le devant de la
scène ces dernières années. Tout d’abord, en raison d’une
réalité démographique : entre 1960 et 2022, le nombre
d’habitants en France est passé de 45,5 millions à 67,8
millions, soit une augmentation de 48 % en 62 ans [1]. Avec
l’augmentation de la population et surtout l’augmentation
de la part de personnes âgées voire très âgées atteintes de
maladies chroniques, la fin de vie est devenue plus longue
et nécessite des prises en charge adaptées.
