Die europäischen Eliten versagen, aber die Medien interessiert nur das Kräuseln auf der Oberfläche der Macht. Kein Wort über Inhalte, kein Wort über die Gründe dieses Wahlergebnisses - stattdessen panisches Vorwärts. In den Abgrund.
Die spanische linksliberale Tageszeitung “El País” veröffentlichte heute auf ihrer Webseite einen Kommentar des Ökonomie-Professors Juan Torres López von der Universität Sevilla. Doch schon bald darauf war der Artikel wieder verschwunden. Es hatte dutzendweise Proteste aus Deutschland gehagelt, wie man denn um Himmels Willen Merkel und Hitler vergleichen könne. Daraufhin nahm der Verlag den Artikel vom Netz wegen “Behauptungen, welche die Zeitung für unangebracht hält”. Wir sind dagegen der Meinung, dieser Text sei problemlos zu veröffentlichen und halten die Entscheidung des Verlags schlicht für feige und falsch. Deswegen lesen Sie und urteilen Sie jetzt einfach selbst.
Im Verlauf der Eurokrise haben zahlreiche Banken gigantische Summen verloren. So sehen sich Staaten wie Griechenland, Spanien und Irland gezwungen, ihre Geldinstitute mit Milliardenbeträgen zu stützen. Aber wohin fließt das Geld wirklich? Wem schulden die maroden Banken das Geld? Diese scheinbar simplen Fragen versucht der Wirtschaftsjournalist und Sachbuchautor Harald Schumann zu beantworten.
Wo genau das Geld der Hilfskredite hingeht und wie viel bislang mit den drei Rettungspaketen wirklich ausgezahlt wurde, das wird selten beleuchtet. Bis einschließlich der letzten ausgezahlten Tranche waren es seit Mai 2010 insgesamt 183,1 Milliarden Euro.
Deutschland trägt an dem Leid der Griechen eine Mitschuld. Statt zu helfen, denken wir an unseren eigenen Vorteil. Dabei ist es höchste Zeit, endlich Erbarmen mit Griechenland zu zeigen!
In der aktuellen Diskussion über die sog. Euro-Krise ist auffällig, dass mittlerweile selbst Vorstandsvorsitzende von DAX-Unternehmen der Finanzbranche sagen, Banken müssten auch mal pleite gehen können. Nur in der Politik sagt das (fast) niemand. Wozu führt es eigentlich, wenn die europäischen Staaten immer wieder mit enormem Einsatz von Steuergeldern Banken retten, wie jetzt aktuell im Falle Spaniens?
Während die weltweite Banken- und Finanzkrise – die derzeit zur „Eurokrise“ uminterpretiert wird – in ihr fünftes Jahr geht, verschwinden Stück für Stück demokratische Spielregeln. Wesentliche Ursachen der Instabilität, wie etwa die private Geldschöpfung, bleiben weiter tabu
Auch Eurobonds werden nicht helfen: Die Finanzkrise, von neoliberaler Politik verschuldet, greift vor allem den Mittelstand an - und damit die Demokratie. Aber noch ist es nicht zu spät. (Von Sahra Wagenknecht)
