Ein Forscherteam des Bonner Instituts zur Zukunft der Arbeit (IZA) hat in einer Studie analysiert, wie sich vergangene Steuerreformen auf die Einkommensverteilung ausgewirkt haben. Das wichtigste Ergebnis: Die Steuerreformen der vergangenen 30 Jahre konnten die steigende Ungleichheit der Markteinkommen nicht ausgleichen. Die IZA-Forscher plädieren dafür, die Steuersenkungen für Reiche aus dem Jahr 2001 auslaufen zu lassen, und warnen vor einer sich weiter verschärfenden Einkommensungleichheit in Folge der angekündigten Kürzungen der Staatsausgaben.
