Philippe Aigrain, Mitgründer der NGO La Quadrature du Net und Verfasser des Anfang des Jahres in englischer Sprache erschienenen Buchs “Sharing”, versucht nun mit 14 Thesen zu Urheberrecht und digitaler Kulturpolitik diese Debatte anzustoßen.
Keine Wissenschafts- und Bildungsfreiheit. Selbstreferenzielle, weltfremde Urteile der Gerichte zu § 52a UrhG. Blockade der Politik, sich an ein zeitgemäßes Urheberrecht zu machen. Unabhängigkeit der AutorInnen von den Verlagen und Open Access sind angesagt, ebenso Aufstand der Studierenden und Lehrenden.
Mit einem Gastbeitrag in der Frankfurter Rundschau eröffnet die Grüne EU-Abgeordnete und Vizepräsidentin des Kulturausschusses Helga Trüpel die Urheberrechtsdebatte im neuen Jahr. Leider fallen hierbei Auftakt und vorläufiger Tiefpunkt in eins.
Seit Jahren wird um eine Reform des Urheberrechts gestritten – nun hat der Bundestag grünes Licht gegeben. Weitreichende Änderungen im Vergleich zum Regierungsentwurf enthält die Gesetzesreform nicht mehr: Der Upload-Filter wird praktisch Realität. Schrankennutzungen für Nutzer*innen werden vereinfacht, Bildungs- und Forschungsschranken entfristet.
