Ermittler sollen auf Vorrat gespeicherte Verbindungs- und Standortdaten nicht nur nutzen dürfen, um etwa Terrorismus zu bekämpfen, sondern auch, um "mittels Telekommunikation begangene Straftaten" aufzuklären. Dies sieht ein Referentenentwurf vor.
Das Bundeskabinett hat nach einem Bericht von heise online einen Gesetzentwurf zum Onlinerecht durchgewunken, der Besorgnis auslösen sollte. So soll geplant sein, dass Provider Behörden auf Zuruf PIN-Codes und Passwörter ihrer Kunden für Endgeräte und Datenspeicher übermitteln müssen, wobei sogar automatische Schnittstellen vorgeschrieben werden. Nicht mal ein Richtervorbehalt soll für diese weitgehenden Befugnisse vorgesehen sein.
Das Bundeskabinett hat einen Gesetzentwurf verabschiedet, der die Auskunft über Bestandsdaten von Inhabern eines Anschlusses verfassungskonform regeln und die Zuordnung dynamischer IP-Adressen ermöglichen soll.
