Der europäische Bauernverband Copa spricht sich in einem Brief an die EU-Kommission gegen landwirtschaftliche Zugeständnisse an die Mercosur-Staaten aus, mit denen die EU ein Freihandelsabkommen anstrebt.
Der Bundesrat will den Bauern neue Freihandelsabkommen dadurch schmackhaft machen, dass dann auch mehr Schweizer Käse exportiert werden könnte. Bei den bisherigen Freihandelsabkommen war das allerdings nicht immer der Fall.
Der Schweizer Bauernverband hat heute Vormittag seinen neuen Situationsbericht vorgestellt. Dieser thematisiert den Fairen Handel, aber nicht für Bananen, sondern für Schweizer Landwirtschaftsprodukte.
US-Landwirtschaftsminister Tom Vilsack hat davor gewarnt, im Rahmen der Verhandlungen um eine Transatlantische Handels- und Investitionspartnerschaft (TTIP) die Interessen der amerikanischen Farmer auszublenden.
