Mehrere Verbände von Ärzten und Apothekern blicken mit großer Sorge auf das geplante transatlantische Freihandelsabkommen TTIP. Unter anderem könnten Kapitalinteressen medizinische Entscheidungen beeinflussen. Die EU-Staaten müssten in der Gesundheitspolitik ihre Souveränität behalten.
Die privaten Schiedsgerichte für die geplanten Freihandelsabkommen mit den USA und Kanada, TTIP und CETA, verstoßen gegen das Grundgesetz. Das ist das Ergebnis einer jüngsten Studie im Auftrag des Bunds für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland (BUND). Erst gestern hatte EU-Handelskommissarin Cecilia Malmström Reformvorschläge vorgelegt – doch für TTIP-Kritiker geht der Vorstoß "am Problem vorbei".
Die Verhandlungen über das transatlantische Freihandelsabkommens TTIP geraten immer mehr ins Stocken – ein Erfolg für die TTIP-Kritiker. Die sitzen jedoch nicht mehr nur in Deutschland, Österreich und Frankreich – es ist mittlerweile eine pan-europäische Öffentlichkeit, eine EU-weite Protestbewegung, die das Abkommen ablehnt, meint Nelly Grotefendt vom Forum Umwelt und Entwicklung.
Anstatt die Verhandlungen zum transatlantischen Freihandelsabkommen zu torpedieren, sollten sich die Gegner lieber aktiv daran beteiligen, meint Bundeswirtschaftsminister Sigmar Gabriel.
