Die Europäische Union und Mexiko machen Fortschritte auf dem Weg zu einem neuen Handelsabkommen. Vertreter beider Seiten einigten sich am Dienstag (Ortszeit) in der neunten Verhandlungsrunde in Mexiko auf fünf neue Kapitel.
Sollte die EU ihre geplanten Handelsabkommen mit Mexiko und der Mercosur bis Ende des Jahres nicht abschließen, könnten mit den Wahlen in Brasilien und Mexiko neue Hindernisse entstehen, warnten die EU-Verhandler am Montag.
