Die EU-Kommission hat noch keine formale Entscheidung getroffen, ob das Freihandelsabkommen mit Kanada in die alleinige Zuständigkeit der EU fällt. Kommissionspräsident Jean-Claude Juncker sagte nach dem EU-Gipfel gestern (Dienstag): „Wir müssen zwischen CETA und TTIP unterscheiden. Bei CETA sagen die meisten der Kollegen, dass dies ein gemischtes Abkommen sein sollte. Darüber müssen wir nachdenken, auch wenn wir aus rechtlichen Gründen der Auffassung sind, dass es sich um eine alleinige EU-Vereinbarung handelt – aber das werden wir in den nächsten Tagen sehen.“
Die neu gewählte Regierung in Athen steht dem Freihandelsabkommen mit den USA (TTIP) skeptisch gegenüber. Mit ihrer parlamentarische Mehrheit will die Syriza-Partei das Abkommen kippen, sagt Georgios Katrougkalos, Vize-Chef des Innenministeriums. EurActiv Griechenland berichtet.
