Der britische Technik-Blogger Glyn Moody sieht im derzeit debattierten Entwurf für ein transatlantisches Handelsabkommen ein Streitbeilegungsverfahren als gefährlich an, mit dem Konzerne Nationalstaaten wegen missliebiger Klauseln im Patent- oder Urheberrecht verklagen könnten. Das "Investor-State Dispute Settlement" (ISDS) stelle eine bislang kaum erkannte Bedrohung mit "hohem Erpressungspotenzial" dar, erklärte der Open-Source-Experte am Donnerstag in einer Diskussionsrunde der von Google initiierten Denkfabrik Collaboratory. Dieser Mechanismus stelle "Firmen über das Recht". Sie könnten sich damit gerieren wie "globale Patent-Trolle".
Bei den Verhandlungen geht es u.a. um Urheberrechte und Gentechnik. Über Brancheninteressen und deren Vertreter erfährt die Zivilgesellschaft wenig – zu sagen hat sie ohnehin nichts.
