Abstract
The current procedure of noise assessment according to DIN 45680 considers
the low frequencies and the single tones. This article reports noise
measurements in the neighbourhood of a forge as an example. The noise
shows significant levels of low frequency without single tones but
with noise pulses with high repetition rate. The authors believe,
that the current method according to the supplement 1 of DIN 45680
"Measurement and assessment of low-frequency noise in the neighbourhood-
Guidelines for the assessment for industrial plants" doesn't sufficiently
take into account the aspects of impulsive noise and hard changing
dynamics of noise. A solution in view of TA Lärm is disscussed
