Abstract
In a retrospective longitudinal study we report on 60 children with cerebral palsy whose physiotherapy (after Bobath) lasted up to the age of three. Delayed psychomotor and speech development, numerous behaviour disorders and learning disabilities and a high rate of consulting the child psychiatrist, school psychologist or speech therapist prove that they are really children at risk. The children often cannot cope with the demands of normal school and attend special classes. Severity of CP becomes less, social class more important during the course of development. Three developmental types with different frequencies are described, followed by practical suggestions.
