Jordan reins in private sector

.
Times Educational Supplement, (2006)

Abstract

This article reports on efforts in Jordan to keep private universities from only catering to wealthy students and watering down teaching quality. Jordan has approved four more applications for universities. The Higher Education Ministry is working on expanding the current offering of courses as there is an imbalance in those studying medicine and engineering. Schools must also cap their enrollment to ensure smaller classes and quality of teaching.
