Etappenerfolg für den US-Präsidenten im Ringen um TTIP und Co: Der Senat ließ Obamas „Fast Track“-Gesetz zur Abstimmung zu. Es würde dem Weißen Haus großen Verhandlungsspielraum einräumen. Doch Widerstand gibt es weiter.
Dem Grünen-Europapolitiker Sven Giegold gehen die angekündigten Änderungen am Freihandelsabkommen TTIP nicht weit genug. Großunternehmen aus den USA hätten auch nach einer Abschaffung der "rechtsstaatswidrigen" Schiedsgerichte im TTIP-Abkommen noch die Möglichkeit, Deutschland zu verklagen, sagte er im DLF. Denn in anderen Abkommen blieben diese Gerichte bestehen.
Staaten wie die USA, Kanada, Australien und andere einigen sich auf das Freihandelsabkommen TPP. TPP gilt als vorbildhaft für das US-europäische Abkommen TTIP. TTIP ist in Europa stark umstritten.
