Die Formatkonkordanzen PICA / MAB2 wurden auf der Grundlage der Lieferschnittstellen der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek erstellt und bieten eine Zuordnung der in der Katalogisierungsdatenbank vorkommenden Felder zu den Feldern des "Maschinellen Austauschformats für Bibliotheken" (MAB2), soweit sie für die ZDB Verwendung finden.
Im Rahmen des deutschlandweiten Umstiegs der maschinellen Austauschformate von MAB2 nach MARC 21 stellt die ZDB auf der Grundlage der Lieferschnittstellen der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek (DNB) eine Konkordanz PICA / MARC 21 für Titel zur Verfügung. Ab Dezember 2008 können erstmals MARC-21-Titeldaten der ZDB parallel zum MAB2-Lieferdienst bezogen werden.
The Library of Congress' Network Development and MARC Standards Office is developing a framework for working with MARC data in a XML environment. This framework is intended to be flexible and extensible to allow users to work with MARC data in ways specific to their needs. The framework itself includes many components such as schemas, stylesheets, and software tools.
