Ein Rückblick auf 2015 im Urheberrecht: Scheindiskussionen, Rechtsmissbrauch und der Untergang des Abendlandes. Die Diskussion ist weiterhin von überzogenen Beiträgen bestimmt, aber es kündigen sich gesetzliche Neuerungen an. In welche Richtung diese gehen werden, bleibt allerdings unklar.
Als die deutsche Piratenabgeordnete im EU-Parlament Julia Reda Anfang des Jahres ihren Entwurf für die offizielle Evaluation des EU-Parlaments der EU-Urheberrechtsrichtlinie (InfoSoc-Richtlinie) vorgelegt hatte war klar, dass dieser bis zur Beschlussfassung im Plenum (terminisiert für Anfang Juli 2015) noch in vielen Punkten abgeändert werden würde. Die über 500 in der Folge eingebrachten Änderungsanträge nährten dann auch Zweifel daran, dass überhaupt etwas von Redas Reformideen überleben würde.
Die Fraktion der Grünen im EU-Parlament hat ein Positionspapier zum Copyright verabschiedet, wonach Filesharing und das Umgehen von DRM für private Zwecke legal sein soll. Außerdem wollen die Grünen die Schutzfrist auf 20 Jahre reduzieren.
