Unter Bundeskanzler Helmut Schmidt sollte die Bundesrepublik ab 1985 verkabelt werden. 30 Jahre wurden damals für den Glasfaserausbau veranschlagt. Hätte die Kohl-Regierung dies nicht gestoppt, sähe die Netz-Infrastruktur Deutschlands heute anders aus.
Die klassischen Gatekeeper des analogen Mediensystems (Redaktionen, Medieneigentümer) sind durch die Many-to-many Kommunikation geschwächt. Jeder kann heute zu niedrigen Kosten seine Sicht der Dinge verbreiten.
Ob Netzneutralität, Datenschutz oder Urheberrecht – wie der digitale Raum reguliert werden sollte, ist höchst umstritten. Dazu kommt, dass viele Entscheidungen auf nationaler Ebene kaum sinnvoll getroffen werden können.
Fragen geistigen Eigentums im Internet diskutiert die Politik mittlerweile auf höchster Ebene. Aus wirtschaftlichem Interesse – also nicht im Sinne der „Kreativen“
