Als die deutsche Piratenabgeordnete im EU-Parlament Julia Reda Anfang des Jahres ihren Entwurf für die offizielle Evaluation des EU-Parlaments der EU-Urheberrechtsrichtlinie (InfoSoc-Richtlinie) vorgelegt hatte war klar, dass dieser bis zur Beschlussfassung im Plenum (terminisiert für Anfang Juli 2015) noch in vielen Punkten abgeändert werden würde. Die über 500 in der Folge eingebrachten Änderungsanträge nährten dann auch Zweifel daran, dass überhaupt etwas von Redas Reformideen überleben würde.
Der Berichtsentwurf von Julia Reda ist zweifellos das fortschrittlichste offizielle EU-Dokument in Urheberrechtsfragen seit das erste Katzenfoto im Internet veröffentlicht wurde. Gleichzeitig ist es in hohem Maße an konkreter Umsetzbarkeit orientiert.
Der DGB-Vorsitzende Michael Sommer plädiert für ein zukunftsfähiges Urheberrecht, das UrheberInnen für ihre Arbeit angemessen entlohnt.
