Paukenschlag im Kampf gegen das umstrittene Handelsabkommen zwischen der EU und Kanada (CETA): Alle neun Bundesländer - darunter auch die sechs ÖVP-Landeshauptleute - lehnten in einer Stellungnahme internationale Investoren-Schiedsgerichte ab! Damit wächst parteiintern der Widerstand gegen ÖVP-Chef Sebastian Kurz.
Das EU-Parlament wird erst im Februar über das umstrittene Freihandelsabkommen CETA abstimmen. Die zuständigen Koordinatoren vereinbarten, dass am 24. Jänner der Handelsausschuss über den Pakt zwischen EU und Kanada abstimmen soll, gefolgt von einem Votum im Plenum am 2. Februar. Ursprünglich hätten die Abgeordneten bereits im Jänner über das Abkommen abstimmen sollen. Die Umweltschutzorganisation Global 2000 begrüßte den nunmehrigen "Zeitgewinn".
