Mit einer Generaldebatte hat der Verfassungsausschuss des Nationalrats die Beratungen über das Volksbegehren gegen die Freihandelsabkommen CETA und TTIP aufgenommen.

Das Anliegen des CETA-Volksbegehrens, dem EU-Kanada-Handelsabkommen "Giftzähne" wie die Aushöhlung des Vorsorgeprinzips zu ziehen, sei nur durch die Ablehnung des Abkommens möglich. Das sagte der stellvertretende Klubobmann der Grünen, Werner Kogler, am Dienstag bei der CETA-Sondersitzung des Nationalrates. Laut ÖVP-Abgeordneter Angelika Winzig muss sich niemand vor CETA fürchten.
Wien (OTS) - Gegenstand der heutigen Verhandlungen im Nationalrat waren die Freihandelsabkommen mit Kanada (CETA), den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika (TTIP) sowie das „Abkommen über den Handel mit Dienstleistungen“ (TISA). Exakt 562.552 Österreicher haben gegen die umstrittenen Handelsabkommen CETA, TTIP und TISA durch Unterfertigung des Volksbegehrens ihre Stimme erhoben. Die Initiatoren sprachen am Tag nach der Auszählung von einem "überwältigenden Ergebnis".
Die Nationalratsdebatte über das Freihandelsabkommen gestaltete sich äußert emotional. Staatssekretärin Duzdar verteidigte das Vorgehen der Regierung, die Grünen zeigten sich über die "Ohrfeige" enttäuscht.
