Abstract
The construction of electric overhead
ines offers, on one side, the obvious advantage
of increasing power transmission
capab i I i ty wh i I e, on the other, increases
the "impact" with the environment.
Therefore the planning of a transmission
system must take into account not only
of the conventional economic imperatives,
but also of constraints due to the interference
of the I ines with the environment
and with other land uses.
To help designers with this aspect,
ENEL has promoted the development of a co~
putational code which purpose is to determine
the optimum values of the basic quantities
of HV, EHV, and UHV electric power
I ines, both a.c. and d.c., and to correlate
them with the values of al I the environmen
tal constraints as required by the designer
itself.
