"Se engaña al país cuando se dice que gastamos tanto o más en educación superior y en realidad lo que estamos haciendo es comprar una cartera con un sobreprecio enorme para pagar los intereses que cobran los bancos por el llamado crédito Cae que dejo de ser un crédito con aval del Estado para transformarse en un subsidio directo que se hace con recursos públicos a una oferta privada desregulada".
La ministra de Educación, Carolina Schmidt, aseguró que pronto se entregarán los resultados de la investigación sobre lucro en las universidades Pedro de Valdivia y Uniacc, pese a un notable retraso respecto de las primeras afirmaciones de la autoridad en la materia. Estudiantes de la educación superior privada llaman a cautelar por el futuro de los alumnos ante eventuales resoluciones.
El Ministerio de Educación detectó irregularidades en la investigación administrativa en contra de la Uniacc y la Universidad Pedro de Valdivia, y remitirá los antecedentes al Ministerio Público.
El rector de la Universidad Pedro de Valdivia (UPV), Aldo Biagini, sostuvo que están "confiados" ante el inminente término de la investigación administrativa que realiza el Ministerio de Educación a ese plantel por presuntas irregularidades.
La candidata presidencial de la Alianza, Evelyn Matthei, anunció este sábado que, de llegar a la Presidencia, no permitirá el lucro en las universidades.
El Ministerio de Educación detectó una serie de irregularidades administrativas en la Universidad Pedro de Valdivia y en la Universidad de Artes, Ciencias y Comunicaciones (Uniacc). El detalle de las Anomalías, será publicado en un informe durante la próxima semana, según informó la ministra de la cartera, Carolina Schmidt.
Según el Ministerio de Educación, en marzo de este año debieron haber estado listos los informes de las investigaciones administrativas que el Mineduc realizó a la UPV y la Uniacc, dos de las universidades cuestionadas por lucro.
El acta de la Comisión Nacional de Acreditación deja constancia de las razones por las cuales la UDLA no logró la acreditación. Señala que no tiene capacidad para sustentar su proyecto educativo, el que califica de “poco orientador”. También cuestiona el número de docentes y habla de bajas tasas de titulación.
Serias irregularidades detectó la investigación administrativa que el Ministerio de Educación realizó en contra de la Universidad Pedro de Valdivia -UPV- y la Universidad de las Artes, Ciencias y Comunicación -Uniacc- en cuanto al funcionamiento financiero de ambas casas de estudios.
A 34,000-student university in Chile affiliated with Laureate Education, Inc. has received notification from the National Accreditation Commission that its institutional accreditation will not be renewed at the end of its current three-year term. The Universidad de las Américas plans to appeal the decision, which -- if it stands – would mean that new students would be ineligible for government loans or grants.
Durante el año 2012 el sistema de educación superior en Chile obtuvo ingresos por $3.115.145 millones, es decir, más que las subvenciones que se entregaron a todos los colegios del país ($2.992.000 millones) en ese periodo.
