A total of £21.9m has been allocated for the development of a health and care campus on the Outwoods site at Queen’s Hospital in Burton. In addition, £1.6m has been approved to develop a mental health crisis care centre and detoxification suite at Harplands Hospital in North Staffordshire, as well as four crisis cafes in the county.

A grant of £242,000 has been awarded by the Department of Health to support the development of new mental health support services for people in crisis in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.
The event was a partnership exercise with South Staffordshire and Shropshire Foundation Trust, which would look at how we can all work together to improve adult mental health services.

Due to an amazing response, the CCG has been required to find a larger venue for the Mental Health Inclusion event.

England’s Chief Inspector of Hospitals has rated the services provided by North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust as Good following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission in September.
Plans for reshaped drug and alcohol services aim to ensure that people in the most need will not have to wait for treatment.
The redesigned service will be streamlined to make the best use of available resources, with people classed as ‘high risk’ being accepted on treatment programmes as soon as possible.
The plans will also ensure that the service can cope safely with the number of people in treatment at any given time.
