Domestic violence abuse (DVA) has been identified by the UK Government as a priority to address. Whilst there is a growing body of research into perpetrators of DVA from the mainstream population, there is scant research into perpetrators of DVA who have an intellectual disability. This lack of an evidence base suggests there may be a group of individuals for whom there is no suitable treatment approach. A Forensic Community Learning Disabilities Team (FCLDT) completed a multiservice evaluation of their service and sector CLDTs to obtain a measure of local unmet need.. Since the Bradley Review in 2009 initiatives have been developed to support individuals with mental health problems and learning disabilities in the criminal justice system. Despite these initiatives, it was identified that some individuals were being released from local prisons without adequate support. The Questionnaire on Attitudes Consistent with Sexual Offending (QACSO) is an assessment developed by Lindsay, Whitefield, Carson, Broxholme and Steptoe (2004). The QACSO was designed to assess cognitive distortions relating to sexual offending in males with intellectual disabilities (ID). This article describes collaboration between a community learning disabilities team and a sexual behaviour unit run by the probation service. The author describes her role within the group and the support she gave the group members. She highlights the gap in provision and, with the project now ended, emphasises the implication for the possibility of reoffending when this vulnerable group are not given adequate support. The Media Crew work with their Occupational Therapists and a video producer to highlight issues that affect people in secure settings. As people with learning disabilities themselves, shaping the films is an important part of their therapy and several have been shortlisted for a number of national awards.

The Armidilo has two scales—the risk scale and the protective scale. Research has been confined to the risk scale which appears to predict future incidents with medium to large effect sizes. The use of seclusion as a means of managing the extreme behaviours forensic patients in secure settings is a controversial yet often common practice, despite there being little evidence that seclusion as a practice has any significant therapeutic value for the patient. Clients with attachment issues are over-represented in learning disability services. Forensic inpatient services are no exception. Treatment pathways comprise multidisciplinary interventions, and skills-based treatments are considered vital to recovery and maintenance of prosocial and adaptive behaviour and reduction in risk. An important aspect of treatment is the psychological intervention to enable clients to understand their early experiences and the way this may have impacted on later relationships and behaviour.
