Shropshire Psychological Therapies are offering two free Facilitated Learning and Self
Help (FLASH) Clinics for anyone who is feeling stressed and would like to learn useful
coping tools.
They are on Friday 16 August 2019 at 1.30m-3pm at Sainsbury’s Community Room (The Barn), Whitchurch SY13 1NJ, and Monday 19 August 2019 at 1pm-2.30pm at The Zone, Market Drayton, TF9 1QT.
Shropshire Council and the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) John Campion are working together on a joint campaign to improve road safety in the county – including a chance to join a driver awareness course free of charge.
The ‘Roads Focus’ campaign will run from 8 to 12 July [2019], with a series of events across the county.
Shropshire’s See and Hear attracts over 800 visitors each year who come to see the latest in technology, equipment and services for people with a sensory impairment. This year’s sees over 75 exhibitors taking part and will showcase equipment and information from local, regional and national companies and charities, as well as public, voluntary and private sector services.

The show follows Jessie who having recently suffered a family bereavement meets singer-songwriter Allie. Jessie impulsively follows Allie to London in pursuit of her mother. However, on arrival things aren’t quite as shiny as they seemed and the answers she seeks are buried deeper than she could ever have imagined.
The production focuses on mental health and has an official partner in the Mental Health Foundation after winning the Mental Health Fringe Award last year at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Pleasance Best Newcomer Award.
Codsall Library are hosting a healthy 10 mile walk from the library through the countryside, as part of their Staffordshire Day celebrations. Departure is at 10am on May 2, with prices at £2 per person. Walkers should also bring a packed lunch and wear sensible footwear and clothing for the weather conditions. Booking essential.
A giant inflatable bowel will be set up in the Atrium at Royal Stoke University Hospital on Tuesday 16 April 2019. The organ, which measures 27' by 7', will help to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer, with visitors getting the opportunity to walk through the bowel and get a close look at polyps and cancers. UHNM's bowel cancer screening team will also be available to help answer any queries and concerns people may have about the disease.

Information and advice on saving money and keeping warm in the home will be available to residents in The Square, Shrewsbury on Saturday 19 January 2019, 10am until 3pm, as part of national Big Energy-Saving Week.
The event will be hosted by Keep Shropshire Warm – a partnership between Shropshire Council and Marches Energy Agency, a registered charity specialising in energy advice. Advisers will be on hand to deal with a range of queries from the public, and to give out money-saving freebies such as energy monitors.

The project will include a programme of creative health and wellbeing opportunities for families. Alongside this will be a range of social and physical activities promoting and using the great outdoors and making the most of local green spaces.
Work with local voluntary organisations will also take place to encourage and co-ordinate more volunteering opportunities as a way of increasing people’s confidence, developing new skills and improving general wellbeing.
Health and social care teams across Shropshire are urging those who care for an older person, or person with disabilities, to protect themselves and the person they care for, by getting their flu vaccine.
