Im vorliegenden Text soll der Versuch unternommen werden, einige Thesen von Donna Haraway vorzustellen und diese aus anti-speziesistischer Perspektive zu beleuchten. Donna Haraway hat Biologie studiert und lehrt heute als Professorin für Wissenschaftsgeschichte in Santa Cruz. Sie bezeichnet sich selbst als sozialistische Feministin und arbeitet zu Themen, die an der Schnittstelle zwischen Natur-und Humanwissenschaften liegen. Ihre Theoriebildung ist außerdem von poststrukturalistischen und sozialkonstruktivistischen Strömungen beeinflußt. Obwohl Haraway nicht explizit tierrechtlerisch arbeitet, ist eine Auseinandersetzung mit ihren Thesen dennoch auch für Menschen, die sich mit dieser Thematik befassen, interessant, vor allem da sie sich stark mit dem Naturbegriff und der Primatologie auseinandersetzt.
Wer oder was ist das femarchiv? Das femarchiv ist ein Projekt des Allgemeinen Studierendenausschusses (AStA) der Universität Potsdam, das bereits 2003 durch das Referat für Geschlechterverhältnisse initiiert wurde. Es dauerte jedoch einige Jahre, bis ein geeignetes Konzept entwickelt und auch ein passender Ort für das femarchiv gefunden wurde. Seit dem 7. Juli 2007 steht es endlich allen Interessierten offen.
